Bill's best Snorkeling dive sites Potato Point

by Bill Barker

Dear NCMG members

I'm proposing a snorkeling outing this Friday at Potato Point (Good Friday). Sorry for the short notice, but the weather and sea conditions are looking too good to miss. I've been promising for a couple of years to show people around my favourite site and with a forecast of light SW winds, virtually no swell and clear and warmish water the conditions are likely to be about as good as it gets.

Let's meet at 10.00 am at the Potato Point boat ramp. To get there turn off the highway at the southern end of Bodalla, proceed 8kms to Potato Point, take the first left as you come into the village (Riverview Street) proceed for about 400 metres, passing the reserve on your left, past the phone box on your right and take a left to the boat ramp.

Please bring all your own snorkeling gear as usual. The water is around 20 degrees at the moment, which is pleasant but I still recommend a full-length wetsuit if you have one.

For those wanting to spend a bit more time at Potato Point, the beach is very nice and there is national park, walks and views all around.
You can even get a cup of coffee at the caravan park cafe a couple of kms to the north.

If those intending to come could let me know by email or phone (4473 5304) that would help, especially in case of last minute weather issues (there's a southerly due late afternoon, but that won't bother us unless it arrives early).
As usual, non members can join on the day if they have the membership fee and application form. Download from here: http://www.south-coast-vacation-packages.com/support-files/ncmg-membership-form-26-04-10-4.pdf

Any queries, call me.

Regards

Bill Barker
