Coastal Walk from Barlings beach to Franks beach
by Jenny Edwards
A big thank you to our Nature Coast Marine Group members Judy Baghurst and Marie Sutton for organising this coastal walk from Barlings Beach to Franks Beach.
They have obtained permission from the Burrawangs Resort to use their bush tracks. There is the option for those who are fitter or want to go further to walk to Guerilla Bay beach and/or back to the carpark via the rocks. (The rocks are pretty jagged like most near Batemans Bay).
WHEN Sunday 14th October
WHERE Meet at the Barlings Island carpark at 11am - The track to the carpark comes off George Bass Drive on the northern end of the Barlings Beach Caravan Park.
BRING A rucksack with a light picnic lunch and water - we'll have lunch at Franks Beach. While there we can see what we can find washed up or in nearby rockpools, if any.
Also bring your cameras and binoculars. There are likely to be many birds and we may be lucky enough to see whales.
And of course, the usual requirements - suitable shoes, sunscreen, hat, etc. and $10 to join the NCMG if not already a member
For more information, and to let her know who is coming, please phone Judy 0414 879 850
