Golf, accomm. package in Kiama

Question:
I'm looking for a gift for my parents who love golf. they live in Batemans Bay so it will just be a short getaway. lovely golf course, beautiful accommodation, easy walk to restaurants, shops etc . was thinking about kiama ??

Here's some advice from my contact in the Kiama/Gerringong area.
Hope it's of some assistance and would love to hear about your parents getaway afterwards.
The gold courses are both nice, depending on how fit your parents are, but I must say that its hard to match the Catalina Golf course that your parents are no doubt very familiar with !!

I've also heard very good guest reviews about Kiama Harbour cabins & the Sebel. I'd be very surprised if you can't purchase a Gift Certificate for your parents in either case.

This is not as easy as it might seem as there is not very much close to the town. Having said that, The Sebel is in a wonderful location and has it's own restaurant, cocktail bar, excellent views and could be booked direct

The other place (you will think this is a little strange coming from me) is Kiama Harbour Cabins situated right by the lighthouse. I have always heard very good reports about them. Regarding golfing - the course known as Kiama Golf Course is in fact at Minnamurra and, unlike the Gerringong course, is very flat. If they are a very fit couple they may like to play at the extremely picturesque Gerringong but could always hire a cart. Ladies day there is Thursday.

If it were me I think I would stay at the Sebel but if they really would like a house think about Gerroa and they could stroll to the cafe there. It is closed on Tuesdays and is under new management - recently purchased by the Berry Sourdough Bakery and refurbished. I think it is only open for dinner from Wednesday nights (?).
