Healthkick is a Wellness and Fitness Coaching business that supports you to make healthy changes to your eating, exercise and mindset.

There are plenty of health 'experts' out there who will tell you what to do. Melanie from Healthkick Consulting aims to show you how to do it. How to make lasting, sustainable improvements to your lifestyle habits for better emotional, nutritional and physical health.

Melanie uses proven techniques and accurate information to help you make healthy, lasting changes toward achieving your health goals, whatever they may be. You change at your own pace, on your terms.

Healthkick Consulting came into being after Melanie herself discovered the secrets of developing sustainable healthy habits.

Now she says she's 'passionate about sharing these insights with as many people as I can - people who know they need to change, and are ready to start the journey'.

As a child, Mel was sick more often than not, a very fussy eater, 'no veggies please' with recurring tonsilitis despite loads of antibiotics and and a succession of viruses.

As a teenager, Melanie suffered disordered eating habits and a love of junk food. Melanie now says, 'Our teenage years are a critical period in life; our habits can create physiological changes that stay with us into adulthood'.

In her late teens during university, Mel realized that her muscles had wasted away and that she was skinny....but really unhealthy! She then became a personal trainer and then 'thought I knew what to eat and how to move'.

Yet in her 20's, she was still constantly tired and drained, with dark circles under her eyes. She recalls finding it hard to train consistently at the gym because she'd come down with a virus if she pushed herself too hard (too hard = normal by other people's standards).

A visit to a naturo-path in Perth in 2001 was life-changing.

Within three months she had overcome the diagnosed leaky gut syndrome and multiple food in-tolerances, and for the first time in her life, she began to know what being 'normal' felt like.

Inevitably, her my good habits and best intentions fell by the wayside, because she knew how to follow a prescribed program for a set period of time.....but not how to integrate these changes as sustainable lifestyle habits.

She says, 'I didn't understand goal setting, obstacles, the influence of my belief systems about food or my feelings of self-worth'.

She didn't know how to cope with temptations and emotional behaviors that were triggered by stress, life changes and social pressures.

Support, a healthy mindset and having a good reason to change, are hugely important.

After years of reading and research into 'good health', she began to learn about Metabolic Typing and Wellness Coaching.

It became clear that there was much more to good health and developing healthy lifestyle habits than she'd ever imagined.

With a new awareness, she then started living this truth.

'Once I had the full set of keys to good health firmly in my grasp, I realised that these keys could be available to everybody, regardless of age, stage of life, financial status and location'.

Now, Mel is keen to share these secrets with the world, to empower a better, more responsible approach to health and well being.
