Healthkick is a Wellness and Fitness Coaching business that supports you to make healthy changes to your eating, exercise and mindset.
There are plenty of health 'experts' out there who will tell you what to do. My job is to show you how to do it - how make lasting, sustainable improvements to your lifestyle habits for better emotional, nutritional and physical health.
I use proven techniques and accurate information to help you make healthy, lasting changes toward achieving your health goals, whatever they may be. You change at your own pace, on your terms.
About Me
I'm Melanie White, your Wellness and Fitness Coach.
Healthkick Consulting came into being after I finally discovered the secrets of developing sustainable healthy habits.
Now I'm passionate about sharing these insights with as many people as I can - people who know they need to change, and are ready to start the journey.
I was sick more often than not as a kid. A very fussy eater - no veggies please - recurring tonsilitis and viruses with loads of antibiotics.
As a teenager, I had disordered eating habits and a love of junk food. Our teenage years are a critical period in life; our habits can create physiological changes that stay with us into adulthood.
In my late teens during university, I realised my muscles had wasted away and that I was skinny....but really unhealthy! I became a personal trainer and then thought I knew what to eat and how to move.
Yet in my 20's, I was constantly tired and drained, with dark circles under my eyes. I found it hard to train consistently at the gym because I'd come down with a virus if I pushed myself too hard (too hard = normal by other people's standards).
A visit to a naturopath in Perth in 2001 was life-changing.
Within three months I had overcome the diagnosed leaky gut syndrome and multiple food intolerances, and for the first time in my life, I knew what being 'normal' felt like.
Inevitably, I my good habits and best intentions fell by the wayside, because I knew how to follow a prescribed program for a set period of time.....but not how to integrate these changes as sustainable lifestyle habits.
I didn't understand goal setting, obstacles, the influence of my belief systems about food or my feelings of self-worth.
I didn't know how to cope with temptations and emotional behaviours that were triggered by stress, life changes and social pressures.
Support, a healthy mindset and having a good reason to change, are hugely important.
After years of my own reading and research into 'good health', I studied Metabolic Typing and Wellness Coaching.
It became clear that there was much more to good health and developing healthy lifestyle habits than I ever could have imagined.
With a new awareness, I started living this truth.
Once I had the full set of keys to good health firmly in my grasp, I realised that these keys could be available to everybody, regardless of age, stage of life, financial status and location.
Now, I want to share these secrets with the world, to empower a better, more responsible approach to health and well being.
