This is a welcome new addition to the Batemans Bay restaurant scene after the closure of an Indian Experience in the Motel.

Having established an award winning Indian restaurant* in Nowra, Gagandeep Kohli says we are "new to Batemans Bay but not new to the business (of running an Indian restaurant)".

Our first taste of the Kohli's cuisine was when we called in to pick up a take-away dinner on our way back to the Coast from Canberra.

We'd heard good reports from our friends and we weren't disappointed.

We chose the beef korma 'zaffar shahi' and chicken tikka masala (from the curry kitchen) with plain boiled basmati rice. Even by the time I had arrived back at home some 25 minutes later, the meal had retained its flavour and heat.

Kohli's is open 6 days per week from 5pm til late and opens for lunch by appointment.
