Moruya Jazz Festival
by Monika McInerney
Less than a week till the Moruya Jazz Festival on 19,20,21 October.
The parade will be one of the best ever, with many local groups putting in a float.
We have plenty of bands playing, Gloria's glorious Festival of Voice, and a Big Band Spectacular in the beautiful new St Mary's Performance Centre.
Our exciting headline bands are the Ernesto Cervini Quartet from Canada, with his only performance in NSW, and George Washingmachine and his new Gypsy Swing band Feel the Manouche.
Boogie Woogie Queen Jan Preston will be here again, as will Capt Bob and the Station House Seven. We are also featuring Chasing the Moon, whom you will recognise as the beloved Moondance.
The ANU will have their various combos here, maybe for the last time. Many school and college bands will be playing, and the whole town will be alive with music. As always, Sunday brings the Gospel Jazz church services where everyone has a ball.
Not to be missed. If you can't get here for the whole weekend, at least catch part of the action.
