Located right on the waterfront in Batemans Bay, Sams Pizzeria is a regular for locals and a 'must-do' for visitors alike. Strolling along the promenade you will invariably catch the irresistible waft of garlic, fresh basil or coffee on the breeze ? an indication that you are heading in the right direction. Just ask a local, or follow your nose.

With a relaxed ambiance that comes from being beside the Bay, this indoor/outdoor restaurant serves up unexpectedly good traditional Italian fare ? pizzas and pasta, salads and gelati. Drop in for a quick meal and you will find yourself lingering, enjoying the food, wine and friendly service.
In Naples the benchmark for pizza is the traditional Margherita, the true test of good pizza making ? simply heavenly if made properly. Sams does a great Margherita. Plus around twenty other pizza variations as well, including vegetarian.
You just know that the penne, spaghetti and fettuccini dishes will be just right. And you would be right. In typical Italian style the food is family food, something to appeal to every age group and tastebud.
Part of the secret is the quality of the raw ingredients of course, and chef Jo insists on high grade products; fresh garlic, plump olives, virgin olive oil, fresh chillies and basil, calabrese salami, sundried tomatoes ?? which means that even a simple rocket and parmesan salad is fresh, crisp and packed with flavour.
Temptations follow in the form of calzone dolce (sweet-tooth pizzas) and varieties of gelato.
It is said that you can judge a good restaurant by its coffee. If the café is good then chances are the food will be as well. In my opinion, Sams has great coffee.

Sensational Sam's on the Waterfront at Batemans Bay

by Mark
(Batemans Bay)

This Italian & Pizza place is tucked away at the end of an arcade but opens up to a stunning view of the water at Batemans Bay. This is one of those places that's always busy due to the local trade even though only a few of the visitors to the Bay actually find this hidden gem.

This is highly recommended.
