The Colony offers daily guided tours of the re-creation 1850s gold rush town. You will hear stories of bush-rangers, learn how the Australian pioneers lived and the struggles of early gold mining and influences on the goldfields.
The guides will teach you have to pan for gold and then you can pan and find some gold by the huge water wheel.
There are lots of things on the 14 acre property to interest everybody and age group. A new addition is the MOGO Maze which provides an educational and fun activity searching for the answers to clues about the Gold Rush days and the Eureka Stockade.
There are shady picnic spots, rustic style mini gold course and even a little tourist train. Other displays include antique machinery and the Eurobodalla Wood Working Guild.
Events include an annual Heritage Day and live music events.
There are facilities for groups, weddings and functions and on-site accommodation in comfortable modern cabins & bunkhouses.
The property is surrounded by the Mogo State forest and there is a forest walk to explore nature along 3 sides of the boundary.
