Q. Hi We're from Sydney and we'd like to know, can you get to Bega by train, as none of us has a car ??

Thanks for your interest in a trip to Bega. Regrettably, the train doesn't travel down the coast past Bomaderry (near Nowra). However, Premier Bus services runs a regular daily service between Sydney Central Station and Melbourne via Bega See http://www.premierms.com.au/newhome/home.asp or phone 13 34 10.

Also, not sure how critical it is for you to get all the way to Bega, but Prior's bus service runs down the coast from Bomaderry as far as to Narooma (connects with Cityrail and CountryLink services at Bomaderry). Priors also offer a quick and scenic trip to the South Coast from Sydney via the Southern Highlands and Kangaroo Valley - includes half hour sightseeing stop at Fitzroy Falls before going on to Narooma. Finally, just in case one of you can drive, you might find that the Car Rental options give you an economical trip and enable you to enjoy the coast as you drive down to Bega, either via the coastal route, or inland via Goulburn and Braidwood and then on to Batemans Bay and then down to Bega.
